The £51(!?) Primark Haul

Primark Haul Bag

I think the reason why everyone loves a Primark haul so much is because you can't check online to see what they have in store unlike the other high street stores such as New Look and H&M. Although they have launched ranges on Selfridges (I couldn't find any Primark stuff on the Selfidges website at the time of publishing) and ASOS sites, the collections are not nearly as extensive as what can be found in larger Primark stores.

I recently took a trip to Primark as I needed to pick up a pair of jeans and have a look at the shoes. I ended up spending quite a lot of money and saying "fuckin' 'ell" to the poor cashier. I ended up getting jeans, shoes, a belt and a bag.

Usually I avoid Primark shoes like the plague because the quality tends to be extremely poor for the price you spend; even though I do like to spend as little as possible I do believe that there is some weight to the old caveat 'buy quality, buy once'. This time thought I think I went a bit overboard with the shoes...

Primark Shoes

...yeah, I did buy 5 pairs of shoes. I spent almost 40 minutes just checking the shoe section because I wanted to get some that would last more than a month. For me, the quality of the shoes I did end up choosing justified their price. I have a tendency to fall in love with a single pair of shoes and then wear them to death, so I decided it might be better to a few pairs and alternate them to spread out the number of uses so they last longer.

Camel Faux Suede Tassel Loafers
Camel Faux Suede Tassel Loafers - £8
These are my personal favourite and have lasted through work, a weekend with the in-laws, putting up (and taking down) a gazebo in drizzle and walking through the city. I've paired these with blue denim and grey jeans but these would suit pretty much any outfit.

Blue Tassel Slipper
Blue Tassel Slipper - £6
These are a fantastic electric blue colour and I'm planning on wearing these with grey jeans and a blue and white stripy top. Those of you who know me will know that this is one of my favourite outfits. The shoes will make a welcomed variation to one of my staple outfits.

Black Faux Suede Slipper
Black Faux Suede Slipper - £4
Just plain black but extremely useful for everyday activities. If I'm wearing heels I like to take a pair of flats with me just in case my feet start to hurt and these are the perfect handbag size. Not bad for £4 really.

Greyge Sole Desire Slipper
Greyge Sole Desire Slipper - £6
These have extra padding in the sole for the balls of your feet. The faux suede material is super soft, they are just generally a nice feeling pair of shoes.

Black Tassel Slipper - £6
These are another of my favourites, I obviously have a thing for tassels. Again, this is the kind of design that would be perfect for everyday wear or even going out for dinner as long as they are kept smart.

Grey Skinny Jeans and Brown Belt
Grey Ultra Soft Super Skinny Jeans - £11 Brown Basic Stud Loop Belt - £2
I love the way that these jeans fit me, I'd always been put off my Primark jeans as when I first tried them they were an extremely poor fit on me. These jeans are different though, because they have a slight bit of stretch in the material they will fit comfortably everywhere.

The belt I really couldn't say no to at £2. I'd been looking for a chunky brown belt for ages and this one was perfect for me so in the basket it went.

Beige Scallop Cut Out Floral Faux Leather Cross Body Bag
Beige Scallop Cut Out Floral Faux Leather Cross Body Bag - £8
I picked this up and before I checked the price I made an agreement with myself "If it's £6 I'll buy it". I could justify spending an extra £2 seeing as I did need to get a new bag to take the pressure of my most favourite daytime bag. This is deceivingly spacious, I can fit an umbrella in here no problem which will be handy when the Autumn whether fully kicks in.

Although it doesn't look like I got much, it was all useful stuff. I love Primark because the prices are reasonable and you can get a lot for your money. Generally the quality of products on the high street is the same so it seems ridiculous to spend £10 in one shop when I can get exactly the same product at Primark for £2.

What have you bought in Primark recently?

Did you know that in the film Toy Story, Sid's hallway carpet is the same design as the hallway carpet in The Shining? That's well creepy.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeres Jonny!
