I was watching a programme the other night and the irony of one member of the public being interviewed compelled me to tweet this...
It just made me really mad. You can't claim to be poor if you can afford a Starbucks coffee, it is a bloody insult. This idea has spurred Jack Monroe to launch #22mealsforacoffee. Everyday there are thousands of people who are relying on the help of their local food bank just to keep them alive. For the price of a Starbucks coffee that will keep you going for the morning could sustain someone for an entire week.
This idea got me thinking, how can you enjoy a luxury coffee AND help someone less fortunate? Can you have your cake and let someone else eat it? If everyone saved money on their daily cup, perhaps they could donate the difference to the food bank.
I've scoured the internet to find DIY recipes for Starbucks coffees. I did manage to find a lot of official recipes which is good. I've included some syrup recipes but it might be worth looking in your local supermarket for ice cream syrups if you are looking for convenience.

Did you know that in the film Toy Story, Sid's hallway carpet is the same design as the hallway carpet in The Shining? That's well creepy.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeres Jonny!
